For Overseas Researchers

The “Japan Society for the Study of Oriental Trade Ceramics” was organized in 1979 with Professor late Mikami Tsugio as President. The main purpose of the society is to study trade ceramics from China, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and other Oriental countries. The symposium is held every year for scholars researching into ceramic history and archaeology. The society does not have membership system, and there is not payable annual fee. Anyone wishing to attend the annual symposium is requested to inform the society in advance. It should be noted, however, that application will be accepted only from scholars researching into trade ceramics. Furthermore, all expense must be borne by the individual. The society’s journal, “Trade Ceramics Studies” is obtainable in exchange for any other publication, preferably one related to the field. In the case of contributions to the journal, paper must be written in Japanese, Chinese or English. Papers should not exceed 5000 word in length, tables and captions to plates included. A brief summary should also be attached. It should be noted that the society is non-profit-making organization, fee will not be paid for published manuscript.
